Fur Styles:
If you plan to incorporate fur into your keychain, there are many different styles that can be achieved. The style will largely depend on how cooperative the fur is (was the fur collected from a hair brush or a fresh clipping?), the texture, etc. However I will try to achieve any of the following results of your choosing.
Most of these examples are shown in the pocket keepsake, but the fur styles are the same for the keychains.
1. Border:
Fur or Hair is wrapped around the outside edges.
2. Combed
Hair is placed diagonally in a smooth, combed look. It can be thinner to show the colored background or filled in completely. This style is best for freshly clipped, untangled fur.
3. Half/Half
Half the keepsake will contain fur, the other half will contain ashes (or other inclusion).
4. Heart
Fur will be shaped into a heart. If the fur you have is tangled or matted, this style can work well.
5. Overlap
Fur is split on the left and right side, and overlapping in the center. It is spread out more than the border style. This style is best for freshly clipped, untangled fur.
6. Sprinkled
Fur is trimmed into short pieces (about the length of a sprinkle) and spread out in the keepsake. If you are also including ashes, the fur can be layered over the ashes like the example below, or mixed in with the ashes. Keep in mind the visibility of the fur will be less if it is mixed with ashes. If the fur you have is tangled or matted, this style can work well.
7. Lock of Fur
A thin lock of hair is placed directly into the keepsake. Other inclusions such as ashes or name tag can be placed next to or behind the fur. This style is best for freshly clipped, untangled fur.
8. Mimic Fur Pattern
If you want the unique fur pattern of your pet to be represented, this can be done. If possible, please package different colored fur separately to make this easier. Please send clear images of your pet to daisiesandmemorials@gmail.com with your order number and name. Note: The final result may not be an exact representation of your pet but it will be as close as possible.
Visibility Options:
- No color:Â Your ashes or other inclusions will be mixed with clear resin to allow the natural color to show.
- Colored Background: If you want your keepsake to have color but still want your inclusions to stand out, please select this option. Your inclusions will be visible from the front, and it will have a solid color on the back.
- Full Color: For this option, I will blend the color with your inclusions. This is not recommended for fur. You will still see some ashes since the heavier pieces will settle to the bottom, but they will be more concealed. If you want your ashes completely concealed, please let me know so I can add a solid color layer to the front and conceal the ashes on the inside so they dont show.
